We are grateful to help you pursue your musical journey. The policies below outline the basic expectations of our relationship with you as a member of our teaching studio:

Tuitions For One On One Lessons

$138/month  30 minutes weekly

$188/month    45 minutes weekly

$ 248/month    60 minutes weekly

Tuition is charged as a flat monthly fee and is due by the first lesson each month.

Tuition covers 4 weekly lessons; however, based on the calendar, some months will have 4 lessons, some 5. Regardless, tuition will remain constant each month. The months with a 5th lesson will make up for the holidays and breaks observed by the studio. There will be no lessons on these days, and no required makeup, as they are balanced out by months with 5 lessons.

Attendance

Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons per month. Please plan lesson times and social engagements accordingly.
Students pay monthly tuition regardless of attendance.
Make up lessons will be scheduled for missed lessons with at least 24 hours’ notice before an absence, but this doesn’t exempt the student from payment.
If you do not give the above notice, the lesson is forfeited.

Make up lessons will be scheduled with the direction of the teacher within 3 months from the absent day.
Make- up lessons for teacher absence may be scheduled by the student and teacher agreement or a credit will be applied to the student’s account.

Parent Responsibilities
  • Support the fulfillment of your child’s responsibilities. Consistency is the key to learning a musical instrument.
  • Encourage progress. Many small steps throughout the year yield big results.
  • Remind your son/daughter of daily practice and help them to schedule this practice time in their daily routine. Better yet, have a practice chart.
  • Provide a practice environment that is free from interruptions (family, friends, TV, computer or phone).
  • Communicate with teacher about any questions or concerns you have regarding the student, music, practicing, recitals or lesson content.
Student Responsibilities
  • Schedule 15-30 minutes of practice each day for at least five days per week. Two of those days must include the day of and following the private lesson.
  • Complete all assignments. If you are confused on how to practice, please ask during Practice steps are included verbally in the lesson, and in the lesson notes.
  • Review carefully any suggestions or instructions given in the previous lesson.
  • Arrive promptly at your lesson time. You reserve the time slot, not the number of minutes.
  • Please keep your nails short.
Teacher Responsibilities
  • Provide each student with the personal attention and respect necessary to develop his/her individual talents.
  • Guide each student to a greater understanding and enjoyment of music.
  • Guide each student towards an awareness of her/his capabilities – clearly communicating short-term and long-term goals. This may be verbal or written communication. Re-evaluation of these goals happens periodically and at the beginning of each semester.
  • Encourage a feeling of success at each student’s individual rate of learning.
  • Guide each student towards Musical Independence and Initiative through a balanced program of theory, technique and repertoire.
    • Theory – studying the “grammar” of the language of music.
    • Technique – the physical mechanics of the instrument
    • Repertoire – a list of pieces to be learned based on standard classical, jazz and popular music essential to gaining an understanding and appreciation for music of many different kinds
  • Report the progress of the student to the parent, listen to any concerns and answer any questions that the parent and student may have.
Multi - Media

I occasionally take photographs or video of students during lessons and performances for advertising materials, lesson demonstration and studio websites. Any material that I post publicly highlights your child’s accomplishments, but if ever there is an image, video that you wish to have removed I will respectfully do so. It is so much fun to be able to look back at these files with your children from time to time.
